Trends in the online community

I guess the idea of ‘trends’ regarding pipesmoking seems odd to me. I try out a blend, and will either like it or not. If not, I’ll jar it and come back to it later to see if it or I might have changed. We all have different personal preferences and body chemistry. What I might not like, another pipesmoker may enjoy. Who knows ? Maybe we can work out some kinda trade because of those differences in our preferences, and both end up with something we like better. - - I like CH, but not as much as I used to. I’m not sure why. - - I smoke all kinds of pipes. Often I smoke MM cobs equipped with a Forever Stem in vulcanite. I smoke clays often too.
My guess is that in this context ‘trends’ refers to majority opinion. But in something as individual (and nowadays increasingly individualistic) as pipesmoking, only ones own tastes matter in the end IMO.

So, does this online “community” have a swimming pool, or a playground? Maybe a soccer field or a park where the pipe smokers could hang out and watch the community band concerts? Or maybe the Girls Crosscountry team from the Community High School? Is there a Community Watch? Because there’s been some unsavory types hanging out on my lawn...
