I was just setting here catching up and I came across this thread.
"That said, I once knew a vegan who fed their dogs a vegan diet. That was one of the dumbest things I have ever heard."
Uncleblackie, I am curious why you would think that so very odd. If they eat like that, and really believe in it, why would you think the dog should not eat the same way. More to my way of thinking, Why should the dog should get off scott free

Because most of us love our dogs and want the best for them. Like humans, dogs are omnivores.
My problem with vegans is I never understand their motivation. Some are vegan because they love animals. Others are vegans because they think it is good for their health. Still others because their friends are. And some because their parents do not like them being vegans.
Oh, and thanks for the bump. I found this thread very entertaining.

I would give it about a week after the grocery stores run out of food before the dogs and cats get eaten...and after that, the cannibalism will begin.

Brian, the dogs and cats will be harder to catch than a great number of humans who are bumping off objects while waiting for the government to come and feed them.
Warren, I agree.

I watched Soylent Green the other day for the first time. Great classic flick. Sorry off topic but this thread reminded me of it somehow.

Someone stated that most vegans do not care about what other people eat and that it is a personal choice.

My personal experience is the oposite. They do care and are always trying to impose their point of view and opinions.

I call them the food nazis.
If it were up to them we would have a Vegan Police, like in Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

Jonathan Swift wrote this satirical essay in 1729.

Change "children" for "vegans" and you have an instant post-digital classic.
A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People From Being a Burthen to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Publick,[1] commonly referred to as A Modest Proposal, is a Juvenalian satirical essay written and published anonymously by Jonathan Swift in 1729. Swift suggests that the impoverished Irish might ease their economic troubles by selling their children as food for rich gentlemen and ladies.[2] This satirical hyperbole mocks heartless attitudes towards the poor, as well as Irish policy in general.
