A Falcon with a couple of spare bowls would be perfect.. Durable, Easy to clean and smoke several times a day with no issues.
I agree with both the suggestions for a Falcon! You could even get a meerschaum bowl to cover both bases (I think there's even one for sale on the forum at the mo).

They make great travel pipes and go with me whenever I'm hiking and just want to throw one in my pocket.

North Georgia mountains.
As other have said, take what you enjoy. Its a vacation so you want peak appreciation. I usually take pipes I really love smoking, but aren't my favorites. I do this just so if something did happen to the pipe/s, it wouldn't be my favorite. But it's vacation so the smokes are very important to me. It's a time I usually smoke special blends I don't often reach for.
Maybe take one of each.

I agree with what's been said, take what you enjoy most, you are on vacation and it sounds like you will be in a private area with your cabin, without any risks of crowds or theft. It's not like you'll be leaving your belongings on a crowded beach. For less than $10 you can't go wrong picking up a cob pipe anyway. Bring that one along in case you engage in any activities where loss or damage could happen. If you plan on doing fishing or boating around for example, I'd rather bring along something inexpensive and easily replaced like a cob.

My experience is that I can smoke the same meer multiple times per day and multiple days in a row with no maintenance other than the occasional pipe cleaner. Briars benefit from more drying time between smokes. A meer with a hard case would make a perfect travel companion.

I have had the same experience with Meers. Run a pipe cleaner through the stem, wipe the bowl with a twister paper towel, reload and move on. Personally I think that pipe rotation is a myth invented by people who make and sell pipes, with just a little care any pipe can be smoked all day every day.

If the need arises, I pack a couple Falcons and my trusty little workhorse.

Falcons are easy and trouble free, as are Cobs to be honest, Falcons however are a little more robust in my opinion.
I enjoyed the robustness and ease of a Falcon so I got 2 more.
Good quality estate pair posted from UK cheaper than buying a brand new bowl here, yes just a bowl.

Don't forget to always check antique shops, no matter where you are. That's where I found my trusty workhorse I'd take almost anywhere, an unknown cheap small billiard that just works.

I haven't exactly 'travelled' a whole lot, occasionally visiting family across a state line or two is most of my travel so take my answer as you will.
