Also glad it was only a dream! When you do smoke it, make sure it’s in a carpeted room.

That's GREAT advice. Any time I handle amber I do it over something soft. Of course, recently I didn't follow my own rule, dropped a 100+ year old amber stem, caught it on my belly (prolonged beer drinking saves the stem!) and it gently fell to the table I was working over. I took some pictures, smiled at my great belly catch, took a photo, then when I was looking at the photo, noticed the following (see chip missing at red arrow).

Miraculously I was able to find the missing chip under the table against a wood floor.. It glued back in and with amber CA glue fill, you can't tell it was ever broken.

Yes, the thought of that beautiful meerschaum bowl falling to unrepairable pieces, brought tears to my eyes. He could have waited until tomorrow to post this thread, and kept us in suspense for a couple of pages
