BS wife into letting me cut a little pasture, cut 15 acres , she's pissed said I told her I would just cut the small pasture, I put my selective hearing on. Felt good to run my John Deere. :puffy:

Staying active is good for the soul. But in my experience, tread lightly where the "War Department" is concerned.
ps. Glad the balloon job held!

Brad, 15 acres is small, according to some folks I know. No BS involved.
Warren, I am not missing the blowing snow, yet. This year I have a blade for the RTV (which has an enclosed cab and heat!) And a blade for the tractor. I am ready, if not willing... yet.

Usually get too much snow for a blade unless the piles (snow) are hauled away. My neighbor uses a blade and blow his snow piles (have to be specific in this forum as to what piles are blown away) when they start to encroach into the roadway.

Bradley, I think we're going to need to see a photo of you on your John Deere with a pipe in your mouth. Who agrees with me? :puffy:

It was 75 and sunny today, when I finished I sat on porch , pleasant southerly breeze, Momma got me a new porch recliner, had a big glass of lemonade, lit up some Wessex, and dozed off thinking of a White Christmas, must of been that white stuff that was swirling.

15 acres might've been 5 acres too many for a guy who got out of the hospital recently.
I call this picture from earlier today: "Tired Old Man Not Taking Care of Himself"
img_29093-450x600.jpg

Everybody has the right to find their own way out, but my life for the last six years has been better thanks to this beat to hell and gone, crusty as shit, rarely opinionated, ex-USN frogman. Selfishly, I want him around for awhile longer because he still has things to teach me.
Please do not enable this guy.

Good point about the enabling. I'm usually the one campaigning for taking it easy even when you get little euphoric runs of energy after some illness or surgery, which can lead to set-backs. But it is all a balancing act. If you lay low and stay in bed, pretty soon a doc or physical therapist will be exhorting you in stern terms to get up and get moving or it's all down hill from here. Take it slow, Brad. Measured. Pace yourself. These guys have a point. Tractor time, but in discreet doses.

Yes, I agree. I wasn't encouraging over work. For me at least, driving the tractor is easy and relaxing. Much better than sitting in the recliner. I can run my tractor for hours on end and enjoy it all. Sometimes I have to stop for fuel for the tractor though.
Take it easy Brad, you know better than any of us what you can do and what you can't/shouldn't do.
