Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I just don't think of tobaccos in terms of price. So I wouldn't have a clue. And if I buy something in bulk, it's only because it isn't available in a tin, like Stokkebye's Nougat or GH's Unscented Brown Flake.

Amen. I smoke what I like because I like it, not because it is inexpensive. When I explored the H&H Burleys a couple of years ago, I didn't do it because they were inexpensive, but because i found it a good way to try a bunch of tobaccos from a genre I was not super familiar with, and because of the quality of H&H blends.

For all those uprooting LBF, you should try Newminster's Superior Round Slices. They are an incredible value and I prefer them to LBF.
That and luxury navy flake.

My friends,

For the sake of our fellows who opened this thread looking for good, cheap tobacco, I would like to put up the Super Value brand Buttered Rum, and Black Cavendish, by Dream Castle Tobacco Co. I received some as Christmas gifts, and was quite surprised by the good flavor and minimal, if any, preservative taste. Seems like a good bet for someone on a tight budget.

I enjoy Altadis' Revelation match and Edgeworth Ready Rubbed match for my regular rotation, as both are tasty, inexpensive bulk blends without the aromatic toppings.

Rig, I was actually given some Super Value brand Buttered Rum. I held off smoking it since I haven't taken the time to read the packaging and I figured it was full of chemicals. Good to know it a good smoke. Thanks!

The two cheapies to which I am partial are (in order of preference) Carter Hall and Sir Walter Raleigh Regular, with the CH being the decisive winner. Even better is John Patton's Storm Front, though it's not quite as low on the cost scale.

I think the last time I bought some "cheap" tobacco was over this past summer. There is an Indian reservation nearby with a lot of smoke shops on it. Their stock in trade is cheap generic cigarettes because there is no tax charged there. A few of the shops do have a limited selection of pipe tobacco. What I get there is Carter Hall. It comes in six little boxes with the 1 1/2 oz pouch inside each box. The six boxes are wrapped together in plastic for a total of nine ozs of CH. This I paid $6.64 last time IIRC.
That is dirt cheap I know but it is about twenty miles from here in a rural area that I don't often visit and I am much happier with my favorite shop's in house blends so I don't often go to "the rez".

Guess it depends on your definition of "inexpensive". I don't think I could name just two though.
Aromatics - 1Q and Troutstream

English/Balkans - PS Balkan Supreme and Sutliff Private Stock Blend No. 5

Virginia - Mac Baren Mature Virginia and PS Luxary Twist Flake
