I just cracked open my first tin of SG FVF (Boswells had one left!). I bent a full flake into my Castello bent billiard. It didn't light very well and required a lot of relights. I guess some drying time would have been beneficial? About halfway through, it started smoking well and wow, I had one heck of a nicotine rush. I made the mistake of smoking this fairly large bowl on an empty stomach. I was woozy for 30 minutes! I won't make that mistake again and will try a future smoke with a smaller pipe (my Ashton Rhodesian XX would probably be a perfect size? I did enjoy the flavor and texture of the smoke, but wow, that one really kicked me in the butt.

Assuming that we're only counting tobaccos presented in flake:
JFG Special Latakia Flake

JFG Best Brown

Charles Fairmorn Lancer Slices

Astley's #44

(tie)Peter Heinrichs Dark Strong Flake

(tie) JFG Rich Dark Flake (which we can't get anymore)
If the question was opened up to plugs and pressed, my answers would change.

I started this thread to see what flaked tobacco others were enjoying and thanks to everyone’s input thus far and a sample from a friend I'm now discovering what great flaked tobacco Gawith Hoggarth has to offer... :puffy:

Whoops...supposed to be 5, but the above is a list of flake tobaccos that I am never without. Well...my small small small stash of Dunhill Light Flake will run out soon and will never be replaced. I have yet to try the new Dunhill Flake. I can only hope it is similar.
