I've only tried Peterson's University Flake, but I enjoyed that one a lot. Love the change up in loading the pipe and how it burns. I plan on getting MacB's Vanilla Cream Flake eventually. Might throw some other flakes in the TAD orders to come.

My top 5 Flakes would be

1. SG FVF

2. Lancer's Slices

3. PS Navy Flake

4. Peterson Irish Flake

5. Penzance
Although I break them up and rub them out 99% of the time because I don't find much of an advantage to the fold and stuff method and have a real hard time getting the fold and stuff method to smoke well.

If I have to choose only 5 they currently would be:
F&T Cut Virginia Plug

Escudo

Solani 633

Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake

John Aylesbury Luxury Flake
I have another dozen or so in the rotation, and honestly enjoy them equally.

I just tried my tin of Orlik Golden Sliced which I did not care for, but after 4 months of aging in a Ball jar, I really love it. The perique was a bit too harsh for me until it mellowed out some. Now my top favorites are for flakes:
PS Luxery Bullseye Flake

Orlik Golden Sliced (Aged only)
I like to fold and stuff both kinds, keeps them burning perfectly. I will have to buy another tin of Orlik Golden Sliced so I can age it before I run out of this one. My favorite tobacco right now has to be Moontrance, second only to Virginia Flakes. I may have to trade off my English tobacco if I continue to loose my desire for them.

Adding to an old thread. Naturally seems that tastes run towards a type or a manufacturer. Some of the flakes mentioned I've not tried but these are some that weren't mentioned that I enjoy.
Gawith Hoggarth Lousiana Flake

Elephant & Castle The Deerstalker (still have a bit left)

Gawith Hoggarth Curly Cut deLuxe

Gawith Hoggarth Glengarry Flake
