+1 for Flitz. Toothpaste is too abrasive.
And, you could brush your teeth with it as it's non-toxic, non-abrasive and USDA approved. However, I prefer Pronamel for my teeth and Flitz for my pipe stems and metalwork.

I like a toothpaste impregnated cleaner clamped to bench to clean the airway of estate stems, but use micromesh and water on the exteriors.
