There's an arbys about miles or less from me. Me and Bubba go there every Sunday afternoon. I don't know where you are but that one's on Cedar Bluff Rd across from KFC.
That radio looks like it ma be from the mid to late 40's. I have an RCA from 1946 that reminds of it that one...am only, of course.

I just started working at the cracker barrel on cedar bluff today. It is so far from my house and a really crappy job.
That is really cool that it is from the 40s. I only paid 7 bucks for it.

I've eat there quite a few times. Love to browse around in the nostalgic area. I picked up some old radio shows on cassettes years ago there.
photoman-just remember this. I have a degree in Electrical/Electronics and because of a company reduction in force about 20 years back, I was laid off as well even after being a veteran and the fact that I had worked there 16 years. I couldn't find a thing for a long time and ended up maintenance man at Watson's department store(now defunct) for barely over minimum wage. I changed lights and ballasts when they crapped out, painted, swept and buffed the floor in the entire store and cleaned the men's and women's rest rooms-all before the store opened.
This company went bankrupt a year after I had been there and I ended up going to work for a local nursing home-worse job I ever had. Myself and another guy did it all there from working on AC units to taking out dirty diapers in large black bags thrown in a large cart. I got pneumonia once from the germs. I had nightmares about that place after I left and finally got back on with the company I had been so long with. I'd rather be sot that work or even visit a nursing home ever again.
I said all that to say this. Whatever situation you find yourself in be assured of this. It won't last forever. Bear with it and better things will come.

Be assured crazypipe, this boy lives good. He sleeps three feet from me each night and gets a treat when he goes n his bed. I call it his nite-nite biscuit and he gets another in the morning when I wake him up. We spend time on the couch together in the evening having a snack together and watching something decent on TV(a rare occasion).
I just get that feeling now and then that I'm still not paying him enough attention even though I probably do and love to be close to him. He gets groomed twice a week(by me), I brush his teeth, clean his ears and do his nails and give belly rubs. Most dogs would die to get all that.

I think I am just tired. To make it there on time I have to get up at 4am. Never had a job that early before.

You can do it. I'm a lot older than you(66) and get up at 4:30 so I can start work at 5:30. By doing so I miss all the Interstate traffic and get to leave while most are taking their last break of the day. I'm home by 4:15. I do this four days a week and then I'm off Fri-Sunday. I like them three day weekends!. the trick is getting in the rack at a decent hour(about 9:00). I haven't been able to do that as yet and suffer in the mornings but, I make it. On off days we'll sleep till 9-9:30. I'm bless to have a dog who will sleep as long as yo do.

Thanks. I did notice West Knoxville's hellish traffic was nowhere to be found. Hopefully it will work out till I find something better.

I-40 before 7:00 am isn't too bad and before 6:00 even better. Leave the house at 7:15 and you're in for a treat. I leave by about 5:15 and if I oversleep and don't get out of the house till 5:45 you can tell a big difference.

I more often then not feel as though I don't devote enough time to my family. Mainly due to working a lot. And I tell my fiancé that but she says I work for our families well being an that is the sweetest thing I can do.
