Only got up to 90 one day over the weekend here then a thunderstorm blew through and cooled everything back down to the low 80s. Here's what's coming up. Hasn't been a heatwave here. I think I believe in Bigfoot more than their breaking news.

My forecast is cooler this week also. Doesn't change the fact that the week before was hot.

Weather is numbers, not opinion.

Today the mercury hit 107 in middle Missouri, likely the hottest since 1954.

My parents talked about how hot 1954 was all my life. I was born in 1958, and the hottest summer of my life was 1980.

I’m a sittin’ here a ruminating that the sales of premium pipe tobacco are almost certain to take a hit this summer.

I have to wait until way, way after dark to sit out here and smoke my pipes.

Yes, a few of us are blessed with air conditioned pipe friendly rooms and cars but not most of us.

How much less have you smoked a pipe during this heat wave?

It’s probably cut me back 80% on weekends and 40% on weekdays, just guessing.

I live in north Texas, so my pipes stay in the rack pretty much all summer. I will not get back out to smoke until mid-September.

I’m in Florida and it’s ridiculous. I’m ready to initiate the beginnings of mass migration.

Smoking fruity VaPers and trying lightly topped blends like rum tinged G.L. Pease Navigator as well as more cigars in the meantime.
