That Peterson article was interesting. I never considered allergies. I'm allergic to many fruits, including, the number one aromatic (my guess), Cherry cased blends. Of course, I started with cherry blends because the wife liked the smell. I got past that... A cherry aromatic is now only an occasional smoke, mostly when neighbors are over because it is the least offense smell to non-smokers (virtually all our friends/neighbors).

What an informative thread. I get tongue bite/burn/pain almost every pipe with aromatics. I wanted to like pipe smoking more than I didn't want tongue pain. I'm glad I stuck with it. I'm trying better brands now like Mac Baren & Cornell & Deihl latakia and perique. I'm learning more and more every day on this site. I tried some flake and coin cuts and the TB is pretty much gone and I am assuming it had to have been my packing. I was burning it too hot i guess. Sipping it has also helped. I'm hoping it's not the PG as was mentioned by spyder71. I really like aromatic tobacco...lol
