My Dads brother fought from Africa to Germany, was in a foxhole with 2 dead Germans, water to his chest, sniper in Bell tower, stayed 2 days and night in there till Payton's tanker blasted the bell tower, my Dsd was a top welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron, went in the Navy, was discharged and sent to New Mexico, worked there but never told us what he did. Yes that really was the best Generation.

Both of my grandfather's fought in World War II. They shared tales with me about how they felt after the attack on Pearl Harbor. As a military veteran who served through 9/11, I have similar feelings as they did.

It is surprising to me that a mere 20 years after 9/11 If so many Americans seem to have forgotten the incident. Sadly, it comes as no surprise to me that so many have forgotten Pearl Harbor as well.

As the saying goes, a nation which forgets its history is often doomed too repeated. I pray this is not the case.
