Yeah it's been known for a little while now. They got Cup o Joes as well.

TobaccoPipes and Cup-O were owned by Mac Baren. So this was known back in the summer, when the sale of Mac Baren, and all of it’s properties, was made public. This announcement is pretty misleading then. It should say:

“TobaccoPipes’ owner, Mac Baren, is being shut down by our competitor, STG, who has bought the whole fucking company and is shitcanning everything. Thank you for your patronage over these many years and…Go C&D!”

Yes, Sutliff bought tobaccopipes.com and cupojoes in 2021 and moved operations from Florida and New York State over to Richmond, VA, respectively. So STG got them in the Mac B buy.

Meh, I stopped ordering tobacco from TP because I always had to be home to accept the package. Not so with SP so they became my go to for online ordering.

I'm fairly new to pipe smoking and didn't know much so started buying from P&C. I've found them to be very accommodating, they've corrected some billing issues right away and shipping has been fairly quick and always accurate. No complaints from me, for what it's worth.

So if they're offering you exclusive access, and if I never bought anything from TobaccoPipes, then I guess I shouldn't bother with P&C. Is that right?

(Please pardon my snarkiness, but I am sick to death of marketing types who treat words as if they have no meaning. "A bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.")

An aspect of this which might be lost on some people, but last I checked tobaccopipes and cupojoes would still post tobacco down under, whereas SPC won’t (unless you have a permit) and P&C only ship within US.

In US that leaves us with 4noggins (yay…insert sarcasm emoji), a handful of B&Ms or individuals who are happy to forward stuff on.

I think there is still the option to order from UK.

Edit: and while I’m bitch’n, access from outside of US to CoJ and TP also was blocked at the same time as tobaccoreviews.
