A new shop in Manassas, VA opened up a while back named Tobaccology. The owner, Brett is an Army veteran and decided to try his hand a pipes and cigars. The shop is nice with a lot of seating up front, and a private lounge with lockers in the rear.

Rothnh,
I suppose my post was a bit ambiguous. Forgive me, I'm just getting warmed up on here. I'm a member there and have a private locker which cost $220.00 a year, but includes access to the private area, 10% discount, coffee and soft drinks, and a few other perks. Brett, is just getting warmed up on pipes right now. A few estates and some Peterson and Davidoff tins. He has some blending tobacco, but has not established any house blends as of yet. His real focus is "atmosphere" very casual, very open, feel free to bring a bottle of scotch type place.

I also think the name is great and I'm extremely happy to hear of someone taking the chance on openning a tobacco shop, especially in this current enviornment.
The pics look great.
Best of luck to them.

Thanks for posting piper—looks great. I am no where near VA, but wish I was - very jealous you have such a shop.

Hail to Tobaccology, and especially to its proprietor. It requires a special person to create

a pipe shop/lounge atmosphere, with a miraculous array of talents from business person,

to tobacco/pipe/cigar guru, to maitre d' or barn boss when necessary. Plus, it takes subtle

management skills to keep even a well attended place in business. Lots of clientele doesn't

always make the money to keep the place open. It's something like being a pastor, another

job for which I would never be suited. The place looks really nice. I hope it is supported by

its patrons. This post makes me want to go down and give my local independent some

business. We vote with our wallets.

It's post like this that make me wish there was a local B&M in my area. But I am determined to find one even if I have to travel an hour.
