Tobacco stuck on the side of the bowl

Hi! I'm a beginner pipesmoker and I have had some problem with the cleaning of my pipe. I have a briar wood pipe and everytime I smoke, small tabacco bits keeps sticking to my bowl. I have tried scraping them of with my multitool and with pipe cleaners, but they are really stuck. Is it something to worry about or should I try something else. I attached a photo of my pipe.

Nothing looks out of place to me in these pics. Your chamber looks as I’d expect it to.

It's normal. Slow down your smoking and it all should burn off.

Just looks like carbon buildup.


You can twist a paper towel into the chamber to smooth it out.

So small tabacco bits that stick to the side isn't a problem? I have heard that it can make the pipe sour.

Just ream it if you want.

It's what eventually becomes cake. You want a little bit of cake in the chamber to keep from charring the wood every time you light up. Just don't let it get to this point...

Do what you wish but I would absolutely not recommend reaming your chamber.
I promise you, keep doing what you’re doing. Everything is fine. Pipe smokers way more knowledgeable and experienced than I have already said it’s fine; trust them.

The stuff on the inside of the chamber in these pics is supposed to be there.
In time, it will build up even more and, as I understand, it will help to protect the briar.

Totally fine. Good chance that they'll combust next time you use the pipe. Sourness mostly happens in the shank.

I'll bet that one smokes as sweet as a nut! My friend always used to say that about good smoking pipes. RIP Mike.
