So, what do you say to those people who go into a sterile atmosphere and glove up, etc., to handle tobacco when jarring?

I'm talking about the plastic bags the tobacco comes in from online providers.

Some of those bags are pathetic; others are all right. For 8 months or so, double or triple bagging in decent plastic will do the trick.

That they are taking it way too seriously? I do wipe off the caulk gun' s plunger with a disinfectant wipe and wash my hands before handling the tobacco.

I wonder if anybody reading this is lost and wondering why we are talking about a caulk guns in tobacco storage thread. Lol how big of a hole do you recommend in the end? Different size holes for areos and English?

Well i have to admit thats not what i was thinking. Makes more sense how you got 16 oz into that jar. I thought you where pulling my leg a bit. Well i learned something i would have never thought of today.

Flakes are a bit different. Mac Baren's pound box of flake are nearly twice as long as the tinned flakes. For those, I cut them in half and fit a pound into two pint jars.

I just got my tobacco order in and had ordered a few pounds of the same blends so i thought i would see how much i could fit in a quart jar. Not as good as chasingembers i was able to fit a pound in a quart jar. I used my sanitized coffee mug to smash/press down the tobacco as i went.
