Tobacco Recommendations To Replace Frog Morton Cellar

Well, I've officially smoked the last of my stock of McClellands Frog Morton Cellar, my all time favourite tobacco, I wouldn't change a thing about it. Unfortunately, they are no more.
Has any fans of Cellar found or know of a tobacco that is similar in taste that would be available from smokingpipes.com or somewhere else with decent shipping to Canada?

Nothing remotely like the Frog Morton blends, individually or collectively. Think of aspects you liked and seek those in other entirely different blends.

Happily there are literally thousands of other great blends out there to discover and enjoy, but if you go into it trying to replace FMC you’re setting yourself up for failure.

You're right, just searched it, I guess I wasn't the only one who found 100% contentment and satisfaction with FMC. I didn't realize it had become such a cult classic, I've been off these forums for a long time. If I had known McClellands was going to pack it in, I would have stocked up. After reading some of the other threads I decided to order some Shephards Pie and see what it's like.

Damn, you'd think they could sell the blend rights or however that works to a different company, seeing as there is such a longing from so many people for FMC, kind of like what happened to 3 Nuns and Capstan, if I'm not mistaken.

Try some Seattle Pipe Club Potlatch and see what you think.

Also, there's something about the vibe of Squadron Leader that reminds me of FMC -- you can augment it with some more virginia and a little St. James Pirique and see what you might accomplish.

There is no blend exactly like FM or any of the FM derivations. However, I found FM to be an entry level and mild English Blend with there being many better choices in that genre. Obviously, taste is specific to the individual so YMMV. I would suggest however that you same a number of other quality English blends that may not be exactly like FM but you may find to be better over time. FM Cellar was Virginia and Latakia with some whiskey topping if I remember right. I think there are numerous other blends out there that can scratch that itch, you'll just have to find the one(s) that scratch it for you.

2. Add some Super Value Bourbon Whiskey.

Maybe the Super Value Bourbon Whiskey, but also think about some of the up-market whiskey aromatics, of which there are quite a few. Back to Frog Morton Cellar nostalgia, I love the frog in his grotto with his row boat at the pier visible outside the door. That has to be some of the most fanciful tobacco tin art ever. I've been enjoying a tin of Potlatch and I have a larger tin. It didn't bring FMC to mind, but it is one of the more successful blends with five or six tobaccos blended so they really harmonize.

Have read some derision regarding the tin art, but I love it as well. When these few tins are done, I have NO intention of getting rid of them. Don't know what I'll put in them - maybe Sutliff will do a FMC match and then we can sleep easier.

I like English blends, but nothing quite like FMC out there that I've found so far.

pants', apparently fantasy is like humor in its subjectivity. I have heard the derision on the tin art but was only puzzled by it. It's like hearing dyspeptic critiques of the art in Charlotte's Web. Interesting, if not easily explicable. To jive on the old joke, it is never too late to have an unhappy childhood.

It's still readily available on the secondary market if you're willing to pay $40-$50 a tin for it.

I went through this when Dunhill MM965 went out of stock. I tried some other blends with a similar profile and found I like them better, Tuggle Hall being a go to for me now. I bought five tins of the new 965 and have yet to pop a tin.
