By nature I am what one would call a “tight arse”…..so since I met my wife 9 years ago I have not really spent any money on myself. When I started smoking I was a bit worried about spending money on tobacco. Then I realised (while enjoying my pipe) that hang on, all the money I get paid every fortnight disappears anyway whether I spend a little bit on tobacco or not. Now I feel much better.
While on the topic…..does anyone want to have a cellar clear out and is happy to post to New Zealand? PM me!

I just want to say that I am glad I care more about my pipe collection and tobacco collection than bourbon. Luckily got what I wanted before the boom that raised bourbon prices 5x+ retail.

Last bottle of Blantons I bought was $69, now the liquor store thieves are pricing it at $130 minimum and you have to know a guy who knows a guy to even get the store owners to admit they have any.

I will take my chance on a limited drop over that any day. (I could continue that rant, but I feel its reserved for the other forum because non ABC states are getting screwed on bourbon prices. To the point it should be criminal.)

I'm sure glad I don't and never have liked booze. For that $130 you would have to spend on a bottle I can get a 5 lb. bag of my favorite imported tobacco. And, I would bet the tobacco will last me a lot longer than the booze. puffy

I started out with cigars, I still love them but I decided to gravitate more to pipes because pipe tobacco is so much cheaper. Even if your state / country has a high tax on pipe tobacco you'll still get much more bang for your buck than cigars.
