I have 43 different blends in my cellar and I am quite content with that number. I like variety but after just so many some blends just seemed to repeat themselves.

I have around 22 Straight Virginia blends, 10 or so Vapers and 10 or so Vaburs and a couple of aromatics. I have smoked another 50 plus other blends that just didn't make the cut. If I test something and it is not something special, it just doesn't make the cut. I have no wife or girlfriend to answer to so that is not a reason I don't have more. I am at the point where my cellar is complete and now I will buy an artisan pipe here and there if I feel the urge. There are a couple of blends that if I find them with enough age and the price is right, I will buy those.

Tobacco is like... Music: I can listen to one type all the time, but different genres suite different moods.
I can go deep in any one type for a while, then step away for an extended period while I explore a different style.
Music brings out certain memories and emotions, not dissimilar to the way scent/smell does.

Tobacco is like a good book... just because you finished reading, it doesn't mean you don't keep a copy in your library. Just because you are reading a book now, it doesn't mean you won't keep a few new books around for future enjoyment/exploration.

Selecting a pipe to smoke for the day is mental process, taking in both utiliarian and emotional purposes. Not all tobacco taste the same in every pipe, and so one must have many blends to support an ever growing rack of pipes. Well, unless your didi :ROFLMAO:
