Granted, pipe smoking is enjoyed best when one slows down and enjoys. However, I wonder if it is possible to infuse elements to increase the energy/caffeine level to pipe tobacco. If they ever create such a blend, I would be more than willing to try it. What are your thoughts?

Haven't you read Sherlock Holmes? He was always getting charged up on nicotine, and maybe a little cocaine. But nicotine was definitely one of his uppers. I think it works as a thought stimulant, though I am not particularly sensitive to it, usually.

second the idea of using snuff if you really want a nicotine lift. Nicotine is one of the those weird substances called a drug. But then it's a weird drug it's both a stimulant and a depressant depending on several factors. First what you need. You know how it's good for waking up and going to bed. Quantity effects which more pronounced. Larger doses of nicotine are more depressant. Then there is absorption rate and that's a big factor. And pipes are basically a nicotine drip so the depressant effect is more pronounced. Cigs and snuff both absorb quickly. Snuff is way healthier then cigs. Oh and when I say snuff I mean nasal snuff. Shags are also going to be more stimulating (this would go well on the out of context quote thread ).

My thoughts are in American made Chewing Tobacco, that stuff is real energy rich and addictive ,gives you more boost than any other tobacco product ,I'd assume this is because of molasses and other fine sauces' they use in manufacturing process of traditional chewing tobaccies
