Wow: You guys make my measley little cellar look like weeds on the side of the road!
I'm way too right-brained to figure out Excel. Or is that left-brained? When it comes to computers, I'm no-brained, so I just slap the tobacco into a jar, mark the date, if I recall, and put it on the shelf and hope all goes well.
It is a small, but growing cellar. Ssshhhh. Don't tell my wife. She thinks I'm jarring tomatoes!

Rmbittner : I have several sort options defined. One is indeed by type first and then by rating, this is the one in the Screenshot. I also have by rating, by age, by stock level and many more, depending on what view of my cellar I would like ;)

Hfearly:
Seeing your spreadsheet reminds me too much of work. I used to have files like that as well as Access databases that would update over a weekend or longer. I am now glad to be retired although I would have enjoyed working a few more years before my disability got the better of me over 5 years ago.
I still use Excel but only for smaller files.
Congratulations on your programming.

FLMason: since I keep quantities in approximations of "4oz jars", and only really update when I'm running out of something, or buying new, it's not a biggie. It's all part of the process of opening the tin, filling it into a mason jar, designing and printing a cute label for that jar, and updating the Excel sheet. Plus, I actually do use the sheet every morning to select what I'm gonna smoke at that day :)

Hehe....I just figured out how to add tobaccos to my tobaccocellar.com acct. Only took 2 months. Got most of my tins in there. Next up the jars.
Hfearly, that's an awesome spreadsheet.

Like Harris, I just keep my stash documented on a clipboard hanging from a nail in my cellar. Of course I date everything when it comes in. Tins and labeled jarred bulks. My strategy is to go deep, very deep, rather than wide. I know what I like, and my tastes haven't changed over the past five yrs. So I try to go for poundage. Approaching 150lbs. now.

I use the pipe app for the iPhone to keep track of my collection. Works pretty good and is easy to import new tobaccos. Just wish they had a way for it to update with tobaccoreviews.com when new blends are added.
