Hello guys. New to the hobby; found this web site that lots of you must know - TobaccoCellar.com. Looks like a great way to track your cellar, but it does not allow new members. I don´t know if that´s a temporary limitation (maybe reached its maximum capacity?), or something I can´t figure out. Does anybody Know, or have a contact I can reach and maybe put myself on a waiting list or something? Thanks in advance!

I hadn't heard Tobacco Cellar wasn't allowing new members 🤷‍♂️. Not sure why that would be the case.

I use it to track my cellar and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks brandaves. Would you mind to please try and ask that question from within the TobaccoCellar site, when you log in next time? I tried to ask but without login in I cannot do it… See the screen shot attached - the “My Cellar” and “My account” are crossed out, so when I try to join, the message is “The site is unable to accept any new registrations at this time, sorry!”.

not seen that. i'm making do with Excel and keep it private
Me too (but in Numbers, not Excel). Unless you’re actually wanting to sell/trade, I don’t see the value in making your cellar public. But maybe the value is less about being “public” and more about the fact that someone has already created a useful spreadsheet-like template for you…

I use an app called Arborea. It is available on the Google play store. It's not perfect but it is pretty solid.

My experience with apps for keeping inventory on my cellar was that the life expectancy of an app is way shorter that my tobacco. I first used Pipe Tool on iPhone, and it lasted a few years, and then when the creators got tired of constantly updating it, my info was locked up, and I lost it all. It is just not sustainable to maintain an app long term with very limited income from the endeavor. Now, I just keep a very rough handwritten list, that I only mark anything off when I smoke the last of a particular blend or add a totally new one.

North Georgia mountains.
I'm not a fan of apps - any of them.
I use a Google spread sheet for my whole cellar. I can access it via my email, and I can open it like an app on my phone. It organizes everything alphabetically.
It's time consuming to log it all at first, but once your caught up you just log new purchases. Helps me keep up with what I need and what I don't, and how much I have overall.

That´s my intention - to get a ready to go spreadsheet, the one they use looks very good. I don´t care about making my cellar public…

Good point rsrsrs. But if it is readily available (like the website) and easy to use, I can spare the time…
I think that the problem was, as I described above, that it became a time suck and expense for the people to keep that site going. You can spend whatever time you want entering your tobaccos, but most of us plan to keep our cellars for over 10 years. Very few cellar type apps can keep maintenance going for a site for that long. So, sure, find one, enter your data... but as those of us that have kept cellars for over a decade have seen, these apps don't last long. And, losing all of that data is frustrating.

On the one hand, it's just a list.

On the other hand, lol, I probably spent two hours after signing up for a garden planning tool last weekend locating my raised beds, adding a couple, dropping in the fence and vertical growing structures, and then dropping in all the colorful vegetables (which you can click on for all sorts of info including companion plants). I had a nice large pencil drawing (to scale of course) but this was in color and pretty!

So if the club that apparently doesn't want you as a member lets you in, I guess have at it!

Tobacco - I have to take the cover off one of three storage tubs because I can never remember what's in what, then root around jars and tins, or look in the garage, or the spare room, and so on. Helps a lot if I'm not set on enjoying a particular blend at a particular moment and just get "inspired".
