I have noticed that a one of my three main tobaccos smokes hotter then the other two. My three main tobaccos are:
GLP Lagonda

Mclelland 3 Oaks Syrian

Balkan Sasieni
It seems that the GLP Lagona, which my main smoke, burns a little hotter then my other two smokes.
Have you noticed that some tobaccos smoke hotter?

I have noticed that with loose cuts and smaller pipes, I switched

Those to larger pipes and pack the bowl by just a gravity fill and light

tamp and I slow down on them as well more than others seemed to correct it

I find that moisture content determines how hot a smoke feels to me. I think its making more steam with the smoke it its easier to get a burn. Is it a little wetter than the other blends?

i second mlaug's question.

The GLP Lagonda is the only one you mentioned I haven't tried, but if it wetter perhaps a little more drying time.
