Tobacco Blend Disaster

Being a cheap S.O.B., I decided to mix some leftover flakes together and smoke them. It was awful!

Tongue bite and a terrible room note. Fortunately, the dog had gas and masked the room notes.

Think I'll leave the blending to the experts and just throw out the leftover flakes.

Yeah man, blending is tricky and definitely requires vast pipe tobacco knowledge, good taste, and skill.

What flakes did you use?

Unfortunately, you'll still be left to deal with the far larger problem (at least from an olfactory standpoint) of a flatulent canine. Best of luck with that!

On an adjacent note, I recently had great success combining C&D VA Flake, Red VA ribbon and Sutliff TS-20 Perique.
Try it sometime if you want to.

I’ve had quite enjoyable results with my “all sorts” blends.
But I keep my Latakia/Balkan blends, Va/VaPer and aromatics separate.

It’s safer to have a little bowl for leftover lats and separate for leftover va and vapers. If you mix everything it’s easy to end up with trash.

I have never experienced that issue since everything I smoke results in people asking me if I have taken up Pyroflatulence as a hobby.

everytime I try my hand at blending this way I either think man blending is so easy this is awesome. Or blending is so hard this is crap. Either wish I could buy more or can't dump the pipe fast enough.

I have a two pipe ashtray and keep one cavity open just to blend.
