A great combo for me is Earl Grey and FMOTT. Yumm. Another one that I liked a lot was Sweet and spice tea with 1Q

I like tea with every smoke I have! Although I don't like flavored teas like chai or earl grey, just straight black or green tea. I won't even add my beloved clove to my pot if I'm going to be smoking. Btw if you love natural teas try adding a stick of cinnamon or a few cloves to the pot for a wonderful experience. The clove even adds a few minerals and other good stuff :)

I've always smoked my (mostly) English blends with a cup of PG Tips (milk & sugar). PG Tips is very much the "working mans" choice in the UK where I grew up.
I can also recommend Yorkshire Blend, and of course Earl Grey. Occasionally I'll go with a Roobios or a Jasmine Pearl exotic tea. But they don't have the same mouth feel as a the more traditional black assam based teas. It's the mouth feel, and the texture combined with the milk that seem to compliment the taste of the smoke so well. At least from my humble point of view.

PG tips is pretty hard to beat in the store bought department - Harris Teeter carries it, so it's finally easy for me to get it in the U.S.
Also, in the DC metro area, there has been a bit of an explosion in bulk tea shops...so, high quality teas are easy to be had at reasonable prices!

Believe it or not, I like to have a nice peppermint tea with my heavy lat blends. Not only is it a good pair, but the peppermint helps to cut down on the smokeiness on the tongue if you are one that smokes back to back bowls.

All about the Tetley orange pekoe. English Breakfast seems to go well with mild English blends.

One of the best teas I've tried recently is from a tea house nearby, in Old Town Pasadena, the Chado Tea Room, and the guy there recommended what's called "Pu-erh" (poo-AIR). It comes in a brick that is aged and goes really well with Latakia blends. I've tried this with GLP Westminster, and Charing Cross, and the taste together is incredible. Both are very earthy, and the Pu-erh very mild, but richly satisfying and unlike any other tea I've tried. The stuff I got is called "Competition Grade Bud Pu-erh." I'm not a tea-ophile (or whatever the word is) but, I know what I like and this is stuff is GOOD!

I had a bowl of FM Cellar with a couple cups of TAZO Black Spice Chia tea with honey, near bliss.

Earl Grey is a favourite, but also Assam. Like coffee, I prefer something with a decent taste to it, often in small, rather than large, liquid amounts. I don't drink alcohol at all, so I am very content with these two. First thing in the morning, with my morning pipe, I like a single espresso just to get the taste buds going! Last thing at night, tea is the thing.

Enjoy your pipe wherever you are today.
