Do you think that the material that they make the bristles out of is harder that Vulcanite?...interesting.

No mate, it is not harder than Vulcanite, neither is water harder than stone. But let drops of water fall repeatedly on a stone and it will eventually wear a hole tru.

Exactly. It's not something that will happen fast, but after repeated use it could happen

I use a few bristle cleaners followed by regular ones. Then, I fold up two bristles and swab out the bowl with them after smoking. I like the bristle cleaners better than the brush because they are a larger diameter than the brushes I have.

I only use bristle cleaners for cleaning estates and for the occasional deep cleanings. I prefer not to use them on my "bowels" at all 8O

Have used both. Now use non-bristle 99 percent of the time. When I do use bristle cleaners it's for the shank only and also saturated with alcohol. Do not know if it's true but have been told the vulcanite stem draft holes get a small polishing when they are made and using the bristle cleaner roughs them up and just makes it a little harder to get them clean. If I thought it was that important I would hunt up the shank brush kit I bought but never used, which I can't remember where I stashed. I'm probably sundowning again but Alzheimers is a gift and I don't want to waste it. It's fun, you get to meet new people every single day.
