Tiny holes on the bottom of the bowl that letting air out

It could be that Savinelli relegated these pieces of briar to the secondary maker due to poor quality. I'm surprised you discovered these small holes! Do they affect your ability to smoke the pipes? If so, one solution may be to use something like a miniwax blend-fil pencil, which is used by craftsmen to fill in small scratches and imperfections in wood. Here's a link:

However, if this is happening to many of your pipes, perhaps you should invest in one with really thick walls!
I can see many of us on this forum trying to blow bubbles with their pipes now! It's the new "washing pipes with hot water in the kitchen sink" debate! :rofl:

This is a busket pipe I had this problem recently. I even haven't break it in. When I smoke I can feel it has poor smokability. The taste is muted and it goes off. I am not sure I am willing to do any repair as it was 29$ pipe I don't care much. Thank you for suggestions.

If its new, take it back. The retailer should exchange it for you.

as a material, briar is the root of a shrub. which grows in the ground. I dare to assume that the holes in the pipe are sendypes. Sandipi are pieces of earth ingrown into the root. On the surface of the pipe can be a tiny point, and inside a lump with a fist. Sandipy is the scourge of the pipelayer. A good master does not release a pipe for sale with sandals on the tobacco chamber. How many pipe blanks have already gone to the fireplace :-(

Pipe mud, made of pipe ash and water, might pave over the inside of the bottom of the bowl and allow you to smoke these at least for a while. I haven't used pipe mud, but maybe members who have could advise.

or the horror of the thought that there might be an anti-smoking relative or acquaintance who is over-enthusiastic and in possession of a hand drill.
I remember back when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, and how after we went through an anti-smoking presentation at school, I got punished for taking one of my mom's darning needles and poking her current pack of cigarettes full of holes.

I still find this problem occurring in multiple brands and pipes fishy. The idea of someone taking a drill to the pipes is crazy, but it's hard to invent a probable scenario. Embers birds eye theory seem perfect, but not on more than one pipe from completely different makers. Oh well, there it is. No explaining it.
