Welcome one and all to a fun filled month of evening pipes enjoyed with a a scary tale or three.

My wife did her usual superb job of decorating the house which always puts me in the mood. Tonight I have my scarecrow meer with some C&D From Beyond with a glass of homemade wine:

Sit back, relax, and enjoy with me and please do post stories of your own you like here.

As always we start with Poe's "The Raven" in my 3 favorite narrations.

First is Darth Vader James Earl Jones:

Next is Dracula Christopher Lee:

And last, but not least, a whimsical version from the Simpsons:

Thank-you for this post, a great accompaniment to a double negroni and some Plum Pudding! I confess to favouring Christopher Lee's reading, even though Poe was American. His is somehow darker and lonlier, despondent and lost. Anyway, thank-you for a dreary interlude.

Shanez, I really appreciate you putting up the three versions of "The Raven." Hearing Lee as Saruman turned me on to his voice, which I never heard in the Hammer Drac movies, probably because it wouls have detracted from him biting all those pretty women:). What I take as his competently rehearsed reading of the poem I will return to. I look forward to hearing Jones and Homer's versions.
