Most of the things said about the pipe world on the Internet are myths and misinformation, repeated and never put into practice. There are only a few examples of places where the information is verified and fact-checked. The pipe magazines that existed had an editorial quality and a reach to the true members of the industry that I've never seen in most of the publications available for free on the Internet. The same goes for books about pipes; most of them are better in quality than what you read on the web.I understand the point you are trying to make but there are some things you and the person making the "magazine", do not grasp fully.
Why am I the potential customer, going to pay money for a magazine that the content of is either a copy and paste of self agrandizment I can already find for free online?
Why, in easier mathematical terms, am I the consumer, going to 13$ plus tax and shipping, to get a printed diatribe of content that I do NOT view online for free?
Its a "just because you put a photo of yourself on instagram, doesnt make you a model".
Its like "gun stores", its really easy to find a 50 year old guy in 2015 claiming to be a sniper that served in Korea or Vietnam then it is to find a 50 year old guy in a gun store in 2015 who will admit, he has no clue about anything.
The only free thing on the web, that I have found, that allows you to hear first-hand information is the Brian Levine Podcast, when the guest is someone who actually works or works in the industry.
