it seems to me a vest pipe would be easier to use while driving.

Hey Sparrow, take a look at the Big Ben Barbados line. In particular the bent egg if you're looking for a good driving pipe. Full bent, good size bowl, wide saddle bit, and pretty light and small. I have one and it is one of the best of my pipes for long highway drive as it sits nicely against your chin while hanging loosely from the mouth. It also smokes Virginia really nicely. :puffpipe:

sparrowhawk, Have you considered a military mount pipe? That could give you an at-home-sized smoke AND a pipe that will fit in a shirt pocket. I have an old Kaywoodie that fits the bill, but one of these Peterson's might also do nicely.

I have a Savanelli Roley that I've owned for about 3 years. This thread made me finally fire it up and see how it smokes. Not very well, it turns out. I am a fan of nose warmers and short pipes but this design is highly flawed, especially the sharp bend in the stem that makes it impossible to get a pipe cleaner threw.
