After going through my cleaning and sterilizing process, which involves the use of 25 y/o Highland Park Single Malt ( I have very little of this left I've dedicated it to my estate pipes). I rubbed some bees wax on the bowl and buffed it with my Dunhill pipe cloth. I must say this little Prince by Orlik looks splendid.
Being down to dregs of the packet of 2 y/o Condor Long Cut I got almost a full bowls worth and am now keeping it smokey.

What a relief. I was afraid you were about to say you used 15 year old Laphroaig and a Barling's cloth, in which case the pipe would have been completely destroyed.

The search for a use for Laphroaig continues.

25 YO HP! And here I've been using regular alcohol, haha.
Laphroaig would be bad for a pipe. But good on the palette!

You can use Laphroaig to maintain an ant-free perimeter around your home, too.
I'm just kidding. I have my own square foot of Scotland near the distillery. At least that's what they tell me.

Me too, joined the club several years ago. Banjo....I can't believe you are using that nectar to sterilize pipes. Do you actually get any of the flavor back on the first smoke, I use Everclear and have never even got a hint of alcohol flavor?

I haven't had the pleasure of 25YO HP... and it's taken me 25 years to learn how to spell "Laphroaig" and I still can't do it without looking. Accidentally spilled some on our dining room table once... stripped the finish down to bare wood in 3 seconds.(dark walnut/heavy lacquer) For the insides of my pipes, I use 91% isopropyl alcohol. Carry on!

Princes are perfect pipes when you get blends above three tobaccos. They really spread out the ember and give you measured portions of each. In a more narrow bowl, some blends just sleep. In a prince, some really bloom.

Codecreatively, either that is a typo for palate (as in the mouth) or as it is spelled, ie the paintboard used by artists. If the latter then your comment is very true, no fouler single malt have I ever tasted and yes, it rather does taste like I would imagine paint to taste like.
Regards,
Jay.

Fish, of the many fine pipes you've displayed, this has to be one of my favorites. Elegance in simplicity, I suppose. I haven't really looked for Orlicks overmuch though I do believe I have seen a good number of princes in that time.

Al,

No, go ahead, makes sense it would have more information for and from there, didn't give that a thought when I originally posted it.

Am I reading the digital scale wrong? This pipe weighs a third of an ounce? Don't smoke it in a strong breeze. That's amazing.

Hmm, you are right. 9.7 grams would be the lightest pipe I've ever seen. I think your scale might have an issue (or you didn't zero it). Very light pipes are in the 25-30 gram range.
