The following post will contain a word that may be considered by some to an be insult or put down. That is not the case. The word, Aspie, is one that a certain group of people, people with Asperger's, like myself, chose to use in reference to themselves. Moving on....
@booker .... Strong attachment to animals is an Aspie thing. Animals judge you by how you treat them and don't care if you don't fit into society's definition of normal. It is an important thing to be accepted for who or what you are regardless of who or what does the accepting. I imagine it might be difficult to understand by someone who has never been on the outside looking in so you may just have to trust me on this one. I got my first dog, a mutt, when I was 18 and considered him my best friend, over all the people I was friends with, until he had to be put down 14 years later. He just got me better than anyone else did.
