This is probably the best hobby ever

Sitting in a quiet park, listening to the crickets, with a bowl full of 1-Q after a long day of work...
I can tell I'm going to end up being a pipe smoker for many years to come :D.

And there are so many parts to it for myself.
There are the wonderful and relaxing times while setting in a canoe on the river, the ripple of the water over the rocks, the birds singing their sweet songs and a nice bowl of good baccy.
The time spent in the shop carefully bringing an old (almost beyond saving) time pipe back from the dead.
Taking a block of wood and with my own hands and a few tools making something of beauty that can be enjoyed for years to come with a variety of tasty baccy blends.
I have to agree, this is a pretty great hobby!

Smoking my pipes has been the one thing in my life where I am content to simply sit, smoke and contemplate. I'm so OCD and when home, there are so many things that need some attention that prior to picking up the briar, I could only sit still for 15 minutes before going onto the next chore, etc. I can sit on my patio and smoke comfortably for an hour. I can only smoke outside on my patio and I am not looking forward to those long winter months.

I am a busy body, and find it next to impossible to relax, except when I smoke my pipe.

When stuck in a traffic jam somewhere I just relax with a pipe and listen to the other drivers vent their frustrations over the CB radio LOL. If more people smoked pipes there would be less road rage out there.

Pipe smokers live longer. I am beginning to believe it is because in our rushed and over scheduled live today smoking a pipe is a form of meditation. :crazy:

I have to agree with you guys. in fact i enjoy it soo much that i am going to go upstairs and sit by my west facing open window and watch the wset coming rain blow across invercargill. mm think there might be snow later.

And you know what i will enjoy it!!
