This heat sucks

NW Indiana here. I laid off almost my whole crew starting Monday due to the drought. Everything is either dying or in survival mode. Buzzkill.
We've been taking some odd and nasty jobs just to keep making payroll. The only good thing that's come of it is we found a few ideas for additional revenue streams next year.

101 here in MD yesterday, but cooled off with a big storm this afternoon. I remember the looooong winter all too well to complain, it will be here soon enough. I smoke early AM and after sundown in this kind of weather.

We have been hotter than blue hell for six weeks now with just an occasional day of relief. July has been unbearably hot. The drought has wiped out most of the grain crops. If we get rain it is very localized. Last night a town 20 miles from us got a solid inch of rain. We barely got the roads damp.

Another massive thunderstorm rolled thru Western MD this evening. We hunkered down on the patio to watch it hit. I fired up my Comoys pot with some MM 965 and watch nature, complete with a trembling Westie....

In the Brooks Range just north of Atigun Pass (where I'm working), it's been in the 40's and raining for days. In fat, it's been raining so much that we have had to shut the job down until it stops.

Up here in Toronto, we're in the midst of a bit of a heatwave. The past couple of days have been decent at around 28C(82F) but over the weekend and early next week its forecasted to go back up to around 35C(95F)with humidity on top of that. Brutal. If it was a dry heat, I might be able to tolerate it a bit better but it's just so damn humid. Sucks the air right out of your lungs. If only I could live in an area that experiences perpetual Autumn :P

I live in the thumb of Michigan, and thats what we have been having. Today was rather cool though since it rained most of the day

Take a break and come down to Anchorage, it's 55 F right now at 7:30 am as I'm having a cuppa which means it will be in the 80's again today.
