I wonder how many serviceable pipes become firewood or scrap because they don't meet the pipe maker's standards?

Some issues: dented rims; too many pits; bald, grainless wood; an errant tool mark; or a slight alignment problem

that would cost too much to fix.

Just look at the pipe sculpture at Chicago Pipe Show now that was a waste at least this I could hang my hat on! Lol

It would be intriguing to know how the "creator" of this rack relates to pipes. I think many people don't

know that used pipes are entirely useable, so are properly recycled by being restored. A real burn-out

might make a hat hook, but I don't think these pipes are. I'd never seen Nordings sculpture. Those

Nordic folks have a dark side.
