Somewhere you can still get a great steak and kidney pie. I hope! Please let me know if you find some.
What I like about today:
Cars are safer, easier to drive and more comfortable. Often with much better mileage.

Audio in most forms is better, cheaper and more available to everyone.

TV is better, though not cheaper. UHD (4K) is the icing on top of HD. There's much more good drama, comedy and other entertainment today than 40 years ago. News, not so much.

There's less racism and discrimination, though there's a ways to go. For some a very long way.

Long travel has improved in availability, but not comfort or pleasure. Probably cheaper for most trips.

iPhones

Fast and light laptops.

Affordable home espresso machines and great local coffee roasters.
I'm sure there's more, but now I am going to count my blessings, walk the dogs, and smoke a bowl.
Have a good day, y'all!

Vegas Baby!!!
I actually don't miss anything. Life is moving forward fueled by optimism not backward fueled by regret and things you miss. But that's just me.

Monty,

Didn't you mean "miss being a never caught kid... with hair"
Not really, I was thinking more along the lines of being innocent with respect to being ignorant of how screwed up things are in the real world and sometimes in life. As a kid, you don't know this stuff, usually, and don't care. I miss being that.
But I miss my hair more!

My contrarian thought of the day:
Some say history is linear, and some say it is like a pendulum, swinging back and forth between extremes. To my mind, it seems more cyclic, in that there are ideals which are achieved, forgotten, and then strived for again.
We are in the midst of vast upheaval in every area...
So hold on to those good things, because as things shift, there will be room to create again.
It may be that we homebrew all of our own tobacco, make our own communities, grow our own food and fix our own gear. Maybe. But there could also be something cool right around the bend, especially if we push hard for it, based on what we have loved in the past and desire for the future.
An optimistic $0.02
