Do you have any particular things that you logically know you don't actually need, but would like to have anyway?
Would love to hear what some of y'alls may be.
Mine is a Wyvern Smokers Pencil,

from the first time I saw it,

I wanted one!
However, they often go for substantial money (for a damn pencil) and I can't bring myself to justify the expense for what is essentially a novelty, and I've been able to restrain myself. :)
They are pretty damn cool though!

I'd like to own a tobacco farm, but can't "justify" (hat tip to a poster here) owning one.
To be honest, after that Dunhill thread, I started jonesing for one of those lovely pipes. And yet, I can't come up with an argument for utility vis-a-vis cost/benefit analysis.
In other fascinations, I'd love to own a BAR or MP44, or maybe an old PDP-11, VAX or Cray XMP. But not until I have nothing else to do in my life, which will hopefully/probably be never.

One of the Martian War Machines from the 1953 production of The War Of The Worlds. Sadly, they were mostly copper, and were disassembled for the Boy Scout copper drive, but man that would have been cool.

I'm modeling my life after that of Peck. The meager minimalist life is the only one worth living. Sometimes I get naked and head into the forest with nothing except my tiny edition of Walden. I wander for hours and eventually find a spot, cover myself in foliage, and read and nap.

Davet, you need that.
(At the risk of adjusting the thesis -- or the definition of "need" -- to fit intent, not facts.)

Did I really need an IM Corona pipe lighter? I could have bought two or three pounds of tobacco (that I REALLY need) with those $. 8O

Most of what I don't need, I could actually use if I had it... I'd love a portable saw mill, nice cabinet table saw, small blacksmith shop, a good firewood splitter. Sure I don't *need* all those things, but damn I'd sure put them to use if I had it !

Well it is a cool pencil!

I want a table saw, drill press, stronger work table w/drawers. And a window unit heat pump for my sunroom area. It will be Man Cave II.
EDIT:

Wait, I "NEED" these things so I can retire and have fun.

Deathmetal hit one of them on the head, a BAR ("Three Nazi's walk into a BAR. The end")
Also a matched set of Westley Richards droplock boxlocks, one in .500 NE, one in .577NE. A fullsize, ocean ready replica of the USS Constitution. Two pet tigers.
All my dream items are pretty much what I'm sure all of you want too.

That is a very cool pen.
I don't really need any of the following but I'd like to get a knee type milling machine. On the firearms front a I allways wanted a Luger, and a C Sharps rifle 1874 in 38-55.

I'd like to own a tobacco farm,
You sure about that?
I'm glad to be rid of mine. Far too much hard work :)
Do you have any particular things that you logically know you don't actually need, but would like to have anyway?
I imagine I could label 90% or more of my possesions as things I could live without if I had to.
But, in the spirit of the discussion, here's a couple things I would love to have but could never justify spending the money on (even if I had it, which I don't):
First Generation Colt Single Action Army, .45 long caliber, 6 inch barrel, nickel finish
Brand spankin' new Chevrolet Corvette
Something more realistic, that I maybe could afford if I saved up a bit but just could never justify buying, would be a 60's-70's era Vox AC30 guitar amplifier. Man, those things just sound SOOOOO sweet!
