My special lady friend and I went antiquing today and I picked up this. A Savanelli 115 KS Root Briar for 39 bucks. I loved the rustification on this pipe and the price seemed reasonable since a lot of no name basket pipes are usually going for about 40. The cake isn’t much, ckear sight through the stem, which came off easily though it was tight, and there’s little tooth chatter. No major ghosting though it’s clear aromatics were smoked out of this. The oxidation is minor and this seems like an easy pipe to restore. I don’t know how much these go for but I think I got a good one. IMG_3908.jpeg

Lightning does strike twice! Two weeks ago I found some great 1 gallon tobacco storage jars and this morning I found 2 more gallon jars and these are even heavier and nicer that the others. Now I'll have to buy some more bulk tobacco to put in them. Seems I'm doing things backwards, shouldn't it be the tobacco first then the jars?

I also found this framed print of the "STUMP SITTERS HUNTING CAMP". It reminded me of deer hunting years ago and I have the perfect place for it in my smoking room. puffy

Ive mentioned Dupont lighters are very plentiful in France. A coupld of days ago I was at a thrift shop and they had 2 in their dispay case. They were not stupid about the value so they were priced at market rate.

Just got home from our Saturday morning garage sailing. Saw quite a few good tobacco storage containers. The kind with snap-down lids and some in glass with the large rubber gasket seal. Didn't buy any as I have too many already. No other pipe stuff... as usual.

However, the wife is happy. We spotted a Ninja over on a table that looked brand new. I asked the seller why they were getting rid of it and she explained they bought it about 3 months ago and have learned that it is too small for a family of 9. We already have one and use it just about every day... they're great. So, now we have a backup. Cost $25. puffy
