Were they for sale on a thrift shop shelf, or are they still considered sufficiently valuable to be in a display case?
I don't know how things are where you are, but here it's hot a hell. Almost no garage sales being posted on the 3 web sites I use. There are a few estate sales. They're usually held indoors, in the a/c. I don't really like estate sales because most are held by professionals and the chances of finding a "bargain" are slim. Also, picking through a dead person's belongings always makes me feel like a vulture....

I had no idea they still toured. I expected your wife found them freeze-dried (or frozen in carbonite?) on a thrift shop shelf next to the rappist duo that comprised Kris Kross

Hadn’t been in a particular mall for a few months. Went on a whim and scored these, probably smoke the revelation fall of the year. Probably a fast smoke though 
All but the GW. Actually picked up a Troost Aro sealed tin as well. Odd day

The Revalation could be an interesting smoke.Hadn’t been in a particular mall for a few months. Went on a whim and scored these, probably smoke the revelation fall of the year. Probably a fast smoke though

Went out garage saleing this morning and bought something for my tobacco stash. Got 6 brand new 1 gallon glass jars. They have white plastic lids and came with the unused seals for inside the lids. I have quite a bit of bulk tobacco in smaller, wide mouth mason and ball jars, but nothing like these guys. I can't remember ever seeing any of these at a garage sale before.
Anyway, I bought them and brought 'em home. My thought was to pack them full of loose bulk tobacco and figured each would hold about 2 pounds. Then an idea struck. Why unpack the tobacco from the plastic bags? I had 5 1lb. bags and 6 jars, so no problem. With some pushing and shoving I was able to force an unopened bag into each jar with one jar left over.
I've thought about it and can't come up with a reason why this would not be a good way to store the tobacco. If any of you guys know something I don't (and I can't imagine that) then I would love to hear about it.
The pics are on the empty jars and then the packed jars. Oh, in case your wondering what I paid for them....$1 each. Boy, do I love garage sales.

I remember buying this at the pipe shop as far back as the 1960s. It was a nice smoke and the only "cigar leaf" pipe tobacco I ever thought was worth a damn. If they made it today, I would buy it...
It appears from this article that Levi Garrett & Sons used that mark from 1795 to 1851.
