Yes it happened with me too. When I first got serious in pipes (and collecting) around 2010 I was all about the Peterson System Pipes. Still have some nice ones and smoke them on occasion but over the past couple years I've gravitated towards Lovats and Canadians. Canadians especially because they're natural sitters and I love the the way the orient themselves upright in my fingers because of the oval shank. I'm a holder not a clencher and that's always been the case since I first started piping in the early 90's.

I guess I should have added, while I don't think the phrase is inherently condescending, that doesn't mean the smoothie woman wasn't being rude.
