One reason I like the Sea Rock finish is that the carving makes it cooler in the fingers no matter how thick or thin the walls are.... also you get a better grip so you're not so apt to drop it and, unlike a smooth, I don't have the urge to be polishing it all the time. As a matter of fact I like it better when it's aged enough that all the shine is gone and it looks like a black piece of coal... but that's just me.
