Tried the Beast as it was supposed to be meg-strong and loaded with flavor. 51% percent perique should have tipped me off. It was stout but the flavor was off putting.

That certainly sucks. I know I really want to stay optimistic about it, but the longer this thread goes on the more it sounds like someone should ask them about what happened. One person notice a difference whether it's me you or even Jim Inks doesn't mean as much as several. Why because we all have different sensitivities and weird things can effect taste.
This is not really about your experience, but tangentially this reminds me of someone I knew that complained about them changing all of their favorite blends. The funny part is they refused to believe their medication might be the problem even though alterations in taste sensation was a highly common and even expected side effect. By the way I think I am the one closer to that on this one. In my please let it be something else then just a real change in the blend.
