Have I understood this correctly:
What makes a pipe a "good smoker" is that the moisture is carried with the smoke

instead of condensing and collecting somewhere in the pipe.

This is achieved by creating an airway that is streamlined so it doesn't cause pressure changes or cavitation

that may cause moisture to condense.

That's the basic breakdown on the physics, yeah.
You build a pipe super smooth and uniform inside, it smokes good.
OR you build a pipe with some kind of gimmicky "system" - a condensor, an evaporator, a baffle, a filter, whatever, and you CAUSE a problem in the airflow, steal that moisture, and pass the smoke along to the user afterward. Some of these systems work all right, but basically they solve a problem that they also cause, so a little healthy skepticism should maybe be involved. Users preferring a charcoal filter etc is another thing entirely.

Think about what "flavor" is. It's big molecules, oils, esters, sugars. You have to get those to your tongue. How do you do it? You carry them in the smoke.
If you burn too hot, you smash up those molecules and the taste is gone. Likewise, if you beat the smoke up enough you can literally beat the flavor out of it, leave it behind in the pipe.
