Halloween sucks with kids. Walking door to door with a bunch of kids is the worst thing to do with them ever. It is much more fun after they are too old to do that, and you can start doing more fun things with friends again. I wish we could just do away with Trick or Treat, and just make it all about parties and costumes.

+1 on the Halloween parties and costumes.
I live in a little town of 3,500 people, surrounded by farms and woods, and I really enjoy all the little trick or treaters. A lot of people from the county bring their kids here to trick or treat. Of course I don't have kids of my own yet, so I don't have to deal with walking them around. I expect I'd enjoy it about as much as you do.

I really dislike horror movies.

I'm not a huge fan of most of them myself, especially slasher flicks.
But I do like older and cheesy horror movies.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw that one and thought it was pretty decent. However, The Witch (or more accurately, the VVitch as stormydog pointed out) was one of those once in a blue moon perfect seasonal movies. IMO the last movie that was as good (and admittedly, better) a Halloween season movie was Hocus Pocus in 1993. Sleepy Hollow was close, but I'll take The VVitch.

I like the posters better than the actual movies, but I will set through one of these. But, the master, of course, is...

I don’t really associate Halloween movies with horror movies . I like lighter stuff in that gendre , some of the older movies , looking back , are so campy and poorly made its practically comedy now , like the original exorcist and young people go camping movies .

I think the original exorcist was one of the scariest movies ever made.

^^^ I watched the original Psycho last summer and loved it. I will have to check out some more Hitchcock. I really like the psychological suspense movies.
