I was smoking a bowl of Mac Baren HH Mature Virginia that I purchased in 2013...back when there were those "Buy 1 Get 1 Free"...."Buy 2 Get 1 Free" deals all the time. Thankfully I went real deep back then, as I'm a sucker for BOGO deals. Lol.

tins are at a place that I can no longer justify the cost and bulk is nearly there. On some brands it's already past what I'll pay.
I understand where you’re coming from. The way I look at it, tinned pipe tobacco is the most inexpensive way to enjoy premium tobacco, so I’m still willing to shell out what they cost. I’ve also only been smoking a pipe for 5 years so I never saw the prices you were able to see, so my sticker shock isn’t as bad.

Even back then my limit was $5/ounce though everything i bought was well below that. Even Esoterica bags at SPC were only $25.

Stocking up is definitely a wise choice. I started narrowing down my efforts towards going deep on a few blends across the various categories that I like best and will continue to do so. I am also in the fortunate boat of being a C&D guy and I like a great many of their bulk offerings.
