My number one son cooked a birthday dinner for my lovely bride and I (our birthdays are two days apart) and a dozen guests from the family. (Almond and panko crusted beef kabobs with a hoisin and red pepper reduction over basmati rice, with a spinach, goat cheese and watermelon salad.)
We all then sat around a lovely fire and chatted and told stories (many of them mostly true). I enjoyed my gift of fine whiskey and some Fusilier's Ration in last year's Father's Day pipe (a nice little Pete).
Simply a perfect evening. I am much blessed.
