And when I did a google maps search I spotted some Dutch named stores, parks and museum.

There's Barneveld, Wisconsin
The community was named after John of Barneveld of the Netherlands.

The Carolina Small Batch is always a welcome addition. The Fillmore is from '17 and has a small bulge already. I'm going to put that in my C&D drawer for further aging.

The Wingfield seems a tad controversial. Some say it has latakia, others say no way - it's just Virginia. Some love it, others detest it or label it just plain boring.
I think I'll open it first and see what the fuss is about.

the Wingfield blend is a straight Virginia. And they claim it's a nice one.

It's actually one I enjoy quite a bit and tend to agree. I keep several in reserve and have a pipe dedicated to it.

I never gave a vermin’s posterior what someone on the interwebs thought. Just try it. Taste is a very complex thing, influenced by genetics, physiology, psychology and experience, among many other things. It’s why reviews are often useless. Sure, there’s patently bad stuff out there, but there’s folks who love it and swear by it. I mean, how did War Horse ever gain a following? Was it all the sarcastic hype? Who knows?

After all, I said I've got a pipe dedicated to it.
And I've got over 50 various tins purchased "to try" when I get to them. I could have stopped when I found a few blends that I really like, but I also like experimenting. Reviews don't finalize anything for me but they can give me some expectations.
I was only indicating that one site selling it claimed it was straight Virginia. I see that other sites state differently.
While taste is, and forever will be, subjective, it would be nice if we could get a reliable source for whether or not a blend has "x" leaf in it or not. I'm new enough that I don't know which site to trust.
Anyway, reliable info on the contents could then refine said expectations.
Hopefully @bluegrassbrian will enjoy it.

One of the things that I love about Secret Santa is sending blends that either the recipient has never tried, or that might be a bit out of their wheelhouse. I never give any preferences, just let the sender choose, and I always smoke whatever I'm sent, no matter what my predisposition is for it. Yes, I DID try Capt. Black Grape!

Smoking it now for the 2nd time. The tin note does have a musty, leathery characteristic that I like - without there being any latakia present. I like it. It's not life changing... but I like it.

It reminds me of a low maintenance woman I once dated. She was not very demanding and didn't require much attention. And like this tobacco, our relationship didn't last last very long.

I have been sick since before Christmas. Today, I opened a tin of Regents Flake. I finished shovelling the snow on the driveway and the sidewalks. We has 2-3" of snow to move. Glade to be done and relax with a new bowl. It tastes great. Life is good.

If anyone needs me, I will be under the covers for a while.
