These times of political upheaval are confusing and exciting, with all sorts of interesting stuff going on around the world.
One immediate calamity is the fact that Brexit has cut me off from Samuel Gawith. I've placed an order for 20 tins of 1792 Flake from my favorite vendor and they will very likely be the last for a long time.
Who knew back when the EU started regulating the size of cucumbers and metrisizing the pint that it would eventually lead to Workman lamenting the loss of Samuel Gawith.
Dies irae indeed!

Prohibition in the US brought about a large black market response, and the rise of organized crime. Ah well, nobody reads history now, so we are destined to relive it. Anyone want to chip in on a fast "cigarette " boat? How ironic and sad.
I've been calling the anti-tobacco/smoking legislation the "Neo-Prohibition" these past 4-5 years. Started with restrictions on places you could smoke, then a sharp escalation in taxes on tobacco and then legislation restricting tobacco blends.
No longer just the thin edge of the wedge now.

Behind that "pint" you look like Roger Moore!
Haha, kind of! No, that’s not me. It’s a Brit who took exception to some EU regulations and did something about it, thus giving our fine friends in the Faroes a bit of bother.

I just wish the UK would allow their tobacco retailers to sell out of country. I have no idea why they can’t. We would all benefit.

I suspect pretty much everyone who understands Germany still wants to control Europe. Your opinion on such is whether it's your bull being gored at the time.
Well it's my bull now. And I'm no match for Germany, I'm afraid.
The unfortunate downside of a bunch of un-elected beurocrats trying to run society.
Let's not go down that road to closed threads ?

That’s how the Kennedy’s got their money. Old man Joe made a nice fortune on bootleg.

Is there something about Samuel Gawith that is now different when comparing tobacco per-Brexit and post-Brexit?
