A vacation from piping sounds like a good idea, to freshen the taste buds and not let it all become just habit. My breaks come more from being busy than from seasonal changes, I think.

I only smoke outdoors, so in the heat of a Texas Hill Country summer (90-100 F, but dry) I tend to use smaller pipes and usually fill them with burley blends (e.g., Butternut Burley). However, I will change up to lats as well.

Last summer, yes, blends were quite different than this winter. Will I change it up in the heat again? Probably.
My memory seemed to tell me that my palate changed with the environment.
(I know for certain that my adult beverage preferences change, and that alone could drive a change in tobacco blend.)
But I've really gotten attached to my Latakia blends this past winter and I don't know how that will play out.
At the moment I'm having a hard time wanting anything other than those current favorites...
And I was on a variety kick until that happened. And my purchases reflected it.

Title Edited. See Rule 9, please.

My piping tends to fall off in the summer as it gets very hot where I live (over 100 degrees is the norm) so after a usually brief spring my pipes won't see much use until autumn, however there are exceptions----camping trips at higher elevations and trips to the coast with it's cool, predictable fog----I find provide excellent conditions for puffing.
Also my taste in pipes and tobacco also metamorphizes to suite the change, from my usual bents to straights, and from Orientals and Latakias to more aromatics (I generally detest aros and have a difficult time finding an aro blend I'll tolerate) and Burleys.

i was wondering if anyone else here goes through seasonal piping changes?
I do not smoke at all during the summer hot and humid months...It just don't taste right and I have no desire..and after the months of smoking my mouth inside is a little tired or burn out so sometimes taste of tobacco is being not too appreciated ..My body is saying No to smoking from may to september...

I smoke inside most of the time, so I generally smoke whatever sounds good at the time with no seasonal differences. If I’m outside on a really hot and humid summer day (Michigan has plenty of those), I’ll usually go for a cigar.
